Ciao! Grettings from Italy

This post is really late as our summer has been B-U-S-Y! A couple weeks ago we headed to Italy! We had the sweetest combination of kids and they really enjoyed playing together. We started off the week reading Strega Nona.
Ms. Shannon read Strega Nona to the group and then we discussed Italian words.
We learned some Italian words and did this pinterest inspired Morning Message:
After reading about all that pasta, we had some fun with pasta at centers.
We sorted pasta at the math table.
Next, we made Italian sodas. Traditionally, these aren't really Italian, but the idea of them is a spin off of a type of drink they used to make with fruit. Either way, they were still yum.
We also read these beautiful books about Rome and Venice.
We pretended to be in a gondola in Venice!

And what would Italy be without pizza? So we read this cute book about making pizza.
And then graphed if we would help...
Then we baked up some pizza at art!
We had lots of fun learning about Italy and next we're headed to Asia!
See you there!
