The Exquisite Wedding of Q & U!

Today we celebrated the much anticipated wedding of Q & U.
Several weeks ago we randomly drew each person's role in the wedding and sent home each person's role and wedding invitations.
Now that the day had arrived, everyone dressed for their roles and were ready for the big day!
Look at this handsome guy!
Before the wedding we reviewed all the roles. Many of the peas have been in weddings recently, so they were really able to understand how each person's job was important.
Here are the ushers. They asked each guest if they were a friend of the bride (Q) or the groom (U).
People were seated accordingly.
I mean, how adorable are these guys?
I just love the glance back at weddings.

Here's a special guest, the DJ!
As the wedding march started, our bridesmaids and groomsmen made their way down the aisle.

Here comes the flower girl and the ring bearer. He was a gallant stand in for our sick ring bearer :(
Finally, the couple makes their way down the aisle!

The officiator had a little stage fright, but then he asked Q and U if they would promise to make lots of words together and always make the /qu/ sound. They did!
They sealed the deal with a high five!
The audience helped them think of /qu/ words they could make by shouting them out! There were a lot! Just a few were....
quail!
quilt!
quarter!
quarterback!
quilt!
quack!
quiet!
aqua!
quick!
and so on....

after we pronounced them /QU/ everyone stood and clapped!!!
Then onto the reception! So....one of our super duper sweet and incredibly talented moms made
Q & U's wedding cake. Aaaannnnddd......yes, a groom's cake! Is that the most adorable cake or what??? We also had sparkling cider!

We did the traditional wedding stuff, like a toast...
And the first slice of cake!
Then friends brought out our show and tell "gifts" for the bride and groom. They were so cute! I may have missed some with all the excitement, so please forgive me if any are missing. Be here's a few I did get:
After discussing our Q & U items, the DJ kicked it with some pretty hip tunes.
And we danced. And if you'll please notice in the picture below, there was actually one pea asking a cute girl to dance. I heard the whole conversation and it was really funny!

Ms. Molly helped with the whole event (THANK YOU MS. MOLLY!) and served cake and cider.

Here's a few pictures of us having a lot of fun.

It was a GREAT time! I think we'll remember about Q & U for a long time to come!
